Stricker Moves Past Mickelson to Second in World Golf Ranking

Sept. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Steve Stricker replaced Phil Mickelson as the world’s No. 2 golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking after his one-shot win at yesterday’s Deutsche Bank Championship, the second of four U.S. PGA Tour playoff events.

The 42-year-old Stricker, who picked up his third tournament victory of the year, also moved ahead of Paul Casey. The Wisconsin native supplanted Tiger Woods at the top of the FedExCup standings.

After this week’s BMW Championship, the 30 highest-ranked players in the standings vie for the FedExCup and $10 million at the Tour Championship in Atlanta, starting Sept. 27.
